According to Wikipedia: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? is a children's picture
book published in 1967. Written and illustrated by Bill Martin, Jr. and
Eric Carle, the book is designed to help toddlers associate colors and
meanings to objects. Wow, 1967! Almost 50 years already! But this story book is still popular among children and my girl like it very much! So, we must have some activities which related with the book.
翻查一下网络字典才惊觉这绘本是 Bill Martin Jr. & Eric Carle于1967的创作~至今也快五十年了!好夸张的数据。但是,其实这绘本很巧妙的融入了颜色和动物,所以小朋友们特别喜欢,晨也不例外。也是这样我就一定要准备些相关活动给家里的小朋友了。

棕色的熊主题,谢谢明帮我们购买 golf tee。今天就可以用钉子来进行 do a dot 啦~虽是新鲜玩意,小朋友是钉得开心,但是感觉上却没有很很喜欢的感觉。这小女生骨子里还真的女生到底呀~

*Counting Practise* I can't get any suitable counting activity worksheet(free printable material), so i used pictures from 1+1+1=1 and prepared suitable counting practise worksheet for Chen. Of course, it is for personal use only.

I read about "working memory" & Shichida Method of Right Brain Learning for Children recently. Parents nowadays always complainted about children aren't smart as others and sent them for non-stop tuition. But instead of complaining, did we (as parents) do something for them during their critical brain-growth periods? At least for me, i feel i have the responsible to help my child for this(but getting high score during exam is her own responsible).So i try to provide some brain exercise activities for her including this memory games. This is my first trial, i think i will try to improve afterward. I'm still in learning and hope through sharing to receive advices/assists from others. :)

Again, i used pictures from 1+1+1=1 to make the matching cards and is for personal use only. I printed the picture on normal A4 paper and pasted it on EVA foam sheets.

Movable Alphabets : DIY ( you can just print out A-Z on card and cut out will do) A-Z字母 : 自制 (讲字母打印在纸卡上然后剪裁出即可)
Anyway, Chen still don't know ABC, this activity just to let her familiar with alphabets. This is not really easy for her as many of them (alphabets) are look-alike. But anyway, she can get correct alphabets after played with few cards.
*Handprint Art 好玩的手印时间* Inspried from Pinterest again and we make handprint art for blue horse, gold fish and elephants?!! Yup, Chen requested to make an elephant after completed her gold fish and blue horse handprint. I searched from Pinterest again and let her make her own elephants(and i can use it for Father's Day!) 接下来就是好玩的手印时间。我们制作了金鱼,蓝色的马,还有大象?!当然大象没有在棕色的熊故事里出现。是晨突然要求要印大象手印。所以我马上用Pinterest找出样本图然后让她印上。(成品很让人满意,可以来做父亲节礼物咯~)
*Fork Painting 做只棕色的熊*
And of course, we tried to make a brown bear too! We used the back end of a fork, dipped in brown color paint to create brown bear's head. This little bear is just too cute! ^^ 最后当然是要做只棕色的熊啦~我们用叉背来制作头部,然后粘上饰品即可!

After Early Numeracy Activities Week, of course we still
carry on for numeracy related homeplay. I added on some counting or
number matching activities inside almost every theme play. Through
continuous exposure, finally she can recognize almost all the number(but
sure will have mistakes sometimes)and can do counting as well.
Anyway, it is not important how good or how bad of their
achievement, we are rewarded as long as children are happy during the
process.

You may refer to our post about homeplay to get all the printable sources. For most of the activities, i use magnatic dots for Chen to do matching. You can use dot sticker (mark with number) as well. 基本的数字配对游戏。属于比较早期就可以开始进行的游戏。通过这个活动,孩子们会慢慢认得所有数字。当然,父母需要陪伴游戏并适时给予指导。多数的活动里,我都是用数字磁铁圆点来进行。你也可以购入一些dot sticker然后再上面写上号码即可。

Daily Life Counting 将数量活动融入日常生活中 This no cost activity which you can do it anytime. For example, you can invite your children to count the button on their shirt. Count on items/food that you pass to them, like can you count how many strawberries inside your bowl now? Keep repeating and they will finally know how to count~ 最基本又不需成本的数量活动就是数些日常生活内所触及的物品。比如,数一数你的衣服上有多少颗纽扣,数一数你的碗内有多少颗草莓之类的~在不断重复练习下,慢慢的孩子们就能掌握。
Number recognize practice can from our daily life as well. I cut out
number one bread strips for Chen as breakfast. After finished, she
requested for Number 3! 😊 从日常生活也可以进行数字介绍活动哦~今早我将面包剪成条状并告诉孩子这些是一。晨吃完后再要求一些面包,并说,我要三的面包。😊 通过日常作息,我们也来认识数字~

started this round tray activity with Chen immediately~

Child uses three of the five senses; tactile, auditory, and sight to learn the sound and formation of each letter/number. Child traces on the letter on the felt number card to gain a muscular memory of the shape of the letters as a prelude to writing.

Yup, sure we can also introduce Number to our little with this simple play dough~ It can be carried out in many ways, for example: 粘土大概是多数孩子的最爱,通过游戏尤其是孩子们喜欢的游戏其实更容易让他们对这些数字留下印象。以下是我们的一些游戏环节:

After i introduced Number Felt Card(Sensory Card) to Chen, every time she saw alphabets/number which is in bigger size, she will use her finger tip to trace the word~ ^^ After completed her wooden puzzle, she traced the wooden blocks surface and said 2~ 自从用不织布数字卡来让她练习用指尖写字后,之后每每看见比较大的字母或数字,晨都会用手指做tracing动作。今天也是一样,完成2的拼图后就自行写起来~

tray) prewriting practice. Of course, what she enjoy most is the rice
playing session (i provided bottles, spoon, cup for her to play
